As some of you may already know, there have been a few changes at The Wine Emporium. After many years of service and leadership to the community, Paul and Linda Trehearne have decided to sell The Wine Emporium and spend more time enjoying other hobbies and interests. The Trehearnes have been a stable and positive hub of the community for several decades, first as owners of Keymart and for the remainder as owners of The Wine Emporium. Their friendly, generous, and welcoming businesses have been more than stores. Their establishments have become hubs of community activity and connection, where shoppers found more than products for sale, with many customers becoming friends. Many of us formed a virtual family around the kindness and outreach embodied by Linda and Paul.
The torch for managing the day to day aspects of this organization has been passed to a new generation. In many ways, Derek Lampe and I have been raised and mentored by the Trehearnes, and we seemed the right fit to continue this “family” business. Derek has been with them for years, having started at Keymart when he was in high school. I have been mentored by Paul and Linda over the last six years as a distributor sales consultant, and I have fallen in love with this community and this charming store that holds a unique position in its commercial and social ecosystem. It seemed like the perfect fit, and Derek and I are proud to carry on the tradition established by Paul and Linda.
Of course, Paul and Linda are too dedicated and hard working to retire completely, so you will still see them in and around the store for many years to come. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t want to do this any other way because that is how family businesses operate! The Trehearnes remain at the core of what we are going to continue at The Wine Emporium: to bring a wine, spirits, and food for every purse and palate with a welcoming spirit of hospitality and generosity.
